Artist Leanne Claxton is constantly inspired by colours when her is on the beach - especially at sunset as every sunset is different. Here are some shots taken in Kamala beach Thailand over the weekend show how Leanne was recently inspired by and painting the colours of the sunset into her abstract floral oil paintings.
Leanne says actually taking her canvases and paints to the beach is one of her favourite ways to paint and feel relaxed and inspired.
The latest collection from the Claxton Studio, Art Of Flowers, takes inspiration from American artist Georgia O’keeffe and a nostalgic sentiment for the past.
“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.”
- Georgia O’Keeffe
The colours for Spring Summer 2017 are vibrant yet have some subtle neutral underlying tones. The palette aims to capture majestic wild summer flora and fauna surrounding an old summerhouse in Galicia, Spain.
“I found I could say things with colors that I couldn't say in any other way – things that I had no words for.”
The Leanne Claxton digital scarf collection sees the artist's dramatic oil paintings digitally transformed and printed to the highest possible quality and finish onto the finest fabrics. Each scarf starts life as a detailed graphite sketch that is then interpreted into an oil painting and screen print.
